Comparing the new Ajax Hub 2 Plus with previous generation hubs
Exactly one month ago, Ajax Systems held a large-scale online presentation of new devices and software updates that have been developed since the beginning of 2020. As you know, the main flagship of the manufacturer is a professional wireless security system, which provides comprehensive protection against all potential threats - intrusions, fires, floods. Its main element is the Ajax Hub, which integrates and controls all other devices.
Today the Ajax security system has 27 devices that interact with each other to create a high level of security at the facility. The Ajax system can be installed as a basic set, or as individual components for individual tasks. If desired, it can be expanded, new devices can be connected and the protection of the object can be improved.
So, at the July presentation Ajax introduced a new generation of centralized security system - Ajax Hub 2 Plus. And this was a real highlight: compared to earlier hubs the processor power has increased by 4 times, the memory has increased by 8 times, the number of supported sensors has increased to 200. Sensors with photo verification and up to 100 cameras can now be freely connected to the central security system Ajax. The number of independent communication channels increased to 4, including LTE for the first time.
Let's take a closer look at how the new Ajax Hub 2 Plus objectively differs from hubs from earlier versions and what benefits it brings to you personally.

Flawless communication with the outside world
Reliable and stable communication with the outside world is a priority of the new Ajax control center. Its communication module has a record number of independent communication channels and supports high-speed LTE networks that provide timely alarm notification in all circumstances. A configuration of 2G/3G/4G(LTE), 2xSIM, Ethernet and Wi-Fi allows the security system to be connected to two different Internet providers and two cellular carriers. Even if one or more of these channels become unavailable due to a failure or accident, contact with the outside world will remain stable thanks to the others.
For comparison, the previous Hubs supported only part of the listed communication channels. The very first Ajax Hub had a set of 2G 1xSIM and Ethernet, the Ajax Hub Plus had 2G/3G 2xSIM, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, the Ajax Hub 2 had 2G 2xSIM and Ethernet.
The automatic channel change here requires only a few seconds. The updated center in terms of the stability of alarm transmission and communication with the outside world is undoubtedly more convincing.
Photo verification of alarming situations with an extended set of features
Starting with Ajax Hub 2 users now have the ability to quickly and conveniently assess the situation at the protected object with a series of up-to-date photos. When activity is detected, the system not only raises the alarm and notifies the owner, but also instantly sends a series of photos to assess the situation. This allows you to make a balanced assessment of the situation and make the best decision.
After all, the alarm may well be false - for example, your loved ones or employees went into the room and forgot to turn off the alarm. You won't have to worry too much and exaggerate the threat. At the same time, if there really is a danger - for example, a burglar broke into the house - you can choose more cautious tactics.
The new Ajax Hub 2 Plus has three important advantages over the previous version:
- Photo verification of an alarm now takes only 9 seconds.
- You can connect up to 200 motion sensors instead of 100 or 150 at previous hubs.
- The number of possible video surveillance devices has grown to 100, the Hub 2 had 25, the Hub 1 Plus had 50, and the Hub 1 had 10.
At the same time, the Ajax system values your privacy: CCTV cameras are disabled and do not film you until an alarming situation is detected. You don't have to put up with intrusive surveillance for the sake of security. Only when the alarm is activated and only when there is an external threat will the cameras be turned on to allow you to assess the situation. The cameras are equipped with infrared illumination so that even in total darkness, the quality of the photos is high.
Increased ability to protect large objects with complex interiors
The new Ajax central security system has significantly increased technical capabilities to serve large facilities - factories, business centers, high-rise residential buildings. They are as follows:
- Up to 200 motion sensors and other devices can be connected simultaneously to cover a large area of the object. With previous generations of hubs, this number varied from 100 to 150 devices.
- The communication range reaches 2 kilometers, and the coverage of the Ajax system radio network is equal to 35 square kilometers.
- The Hub 2 Plus allows you to create up to 25 different guard groups and provide access to 200 users. Its predecessors had much more modest capabilities. For example, the number of users ranged from 50 to 99.
Thus, the updated center from Ajax more effectively serves the interests of large-scale and heterogeneous facilities, where it is important to clearly divide the territory into zones and delimit access for employees.
Increased resistance to burglary and sabotage
With the new generation of central from Ajax gets better protection from any unwanted external influences. From now on, it is almost impossible to disable the system if the house or office is disarmed - the owner is instantly alerted. An attempt to remove the device from the mounts triggers a tamper alarm instantly. If the connection to the hub is lost, the user will know in a minute. In the event of a power outage in the building, the object will be protected uninterruptedly for another 15 hours due to the built-in battery.
Development of existing achievements
The new Hub 2 Plus retains all the achievements of previous generations and increases its capabilities. The Malevich operating system, already familiar from the Hub 2, is now even more reliable and indestructible. At the same time, it is open to anything new and will receive all the latest updates over the air several times a year. Without your involvement or the help of an engineer.
The Hub 2 Plus has the highest level of performance of all four versions. Its processor is 4.5 times faster than the Hub 2, and it has 8 times more memory. Thanks to the hardware configuration, there is the possibility of continuous development and staying up-to-date.
To summarize
The new Hub 2 Plus is the most advanced security hub in the history of this company. It offers more reliable communication with the outside world, improved photo verification of alarms, more options for protecting large objects, and increased resistance to burglary.
The Hub has improved the features of previous generations, became more powerful and significantly increased the amount of memory. All this allows us to recommend you to pay close attention to the Hub 2 Plus. In addition, the price of the new generation Hub is quite affordable: only 15% higher than that of the Hub Plus version.
